Independent Films Earn 45 Academy Award Nominations in 20 Categories Including Green Book, Roma, and Vice for Best Picture

Independent films - those made outside the six major Hollywood studios -- are strong Oscar® contenders this year with 17 films earning 45 nominations across 20 feature-length motion picture categories, the Independent Film & Television Alliance® is pleased to announce.   
 
More than a dozen IFTA Members companies were involved in the production, financing, sales and / or distribution of this year’s film nominees, including Arclight Films, Annapurna, Embankment Films, Entertainment One, Gaumont, Huayi Brothers International, Les Films Seville, Magnolia Pictures, Lionsgate, Participant Media, Protagonist Pictures, and Wild Bunch.
