Independents Sweep Top Honors at 2017 Golden Globe Awards

The Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA®) is pleased to announce the independents emerged strong in the first awards of the season with 11 wins in 14 motion picture categories at the 74th annual Golden Globe Awards.
 
Independent films – made outside the six major Hollywood studios – secured wins in the following categories: Best Motion Picture for Drama, Best Motion Picture for Musical or Comedy, Best Director for Motion Picture, Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture for Drama, Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture for Musical or Comedy, Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture for Drama, Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture for Musical or Comedy, Best Screenplay for Motion Picture, Best Motion Picture for Foreign Language, Best Original Score for Motion Picture, and Best Original Song for Motion Picture.
