The Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA®) supports, protects, and advances the global independent film and TV industry. Our membership includes more than 140 companies from 23 countries. From independent production and distribution companies, to sales agents and financiers, we are the only organization that unites the collective voice of Independents around the world and ensures that they are well represented across all issues that impact the independent business.
We are headquartered in Los Angeles, but our members span the globe. This worldwide footprint allows IFTA members to tackle their shifting needs wherever they are doing business, and positions IFTA as the independent film & TV industry's preeminent information resource for decision-makers.
We lobby governments around the world to promote and safeguard the independents' interests and business models. Everyday we push for legal, regulatory, and industry practices that encourage and expand opportunities for independent film and television programming to reach audiences worldwide.
Independents are the creative risk-takers who have made many of your favorite movies and the world’s most prominent films. They are regularly recognized with every major entertainment award around the globe, and have won 22 of the last 31 Academy Awards® for Best Picture, including Parasite in 2020 and Nomadland in 2021.
