Independent films emerged prominent contenders for the 72nd BAFTA Awards earning 43 feature film nominations in 18 categories this morning, announced the Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA).
19 Independent films – those made outside the six major Hollywood studios – earned nominations led by Roma taking seven; Vice taking six; Green Book with four; Stan & Ollie with three; and Beast, If Beale Street Could Talk, and McQueen each earning two.
IFTA Member companies Altitude Film Sales, Annapurna, Cornerstone Films Limited, Embankment Films, Entertainment One, Gaumont, Hanway Films, Les Films Seville, Lionsgate, Magnolia Pictures, Participant Media, Protagonist Pictures, Sierra/Affinity, StudioCanal and Wild Bunch were involved in the production, financing, sales and / or distribution of this year’s film nominees.
