Los Angeles, CA – Independent films were honored this morning with 22 Oscar® nominations for 12 films across 13 categories, the Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA®) is proud to announce. Multiple IFTA member companies were involved in the financing, production, sales and/or distribution of many of this year’s celebrated films that will be competing for top honors at the Academy Awards® (as indicated below).
Independents have won 21 of the last 30 Academy Awards for Best Picture, most recently Green Book, Spotlight, and 12 Years A Slave.
