First, the definition of an independent: An “independent film or television program” is financed primarily outside of the five major U.S. studies. The Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA) membership consists of the people dedication, creativity, and acumen bring those programs to life.
That includes films like Chicago, Platoon,The Departed, Slumdog Millionaire. Braveheart, and Hunger Games.
In total, IFTA members have produced and distributed more than half of the winners of the “Best Picture” Academy Award.
It also includes productions like Sharknado, Boonie Bears, and The Expendables 3.
Which represent thousands of jobs and millions of dollars, yuan, and euros in economic impact.
IFTA represents the myriad people in the business of bringing these films to life, to theaters, and to homes around the globe.
Distributors may use MyIFTA to ask their peers about a market before they move into it. A producer may rely on our agreements to bring a deal to fruition. A sales agent my utilize the arbitration process to secure payment.
